- Krishnadevaraya ends his reign as emperor of Vijayanagara Empire.[2]
- Achyuta Deva Raya, brother of Krishnadevaraya, begins his reign as emperor of Vijayanagara Empire.[2]
- Lopo Vaz de Sampaio ends his governance of Portuguese India (which started in 1526).
